Bathroom mirror
The perfect bathroom mirror for your own bathroom
Bathroom mirrors are available in abundance today. No wonder it can be difficult to find the perfect model for your bathroom at home. To make choosing a suitable bathroom mirror a pleasure, we would like to help you find the perfect mirror for your bathroom. We have summarised the most important questions for you:
Which bathroom mirror is suitable for my bathroom?
When choosing the right bathroom mirror, the first question that comes to the fore is the requirements for a bathroom cabinet. Basically, a distinction can be made between three types of mirror in the bathroom:
The simple wall mirror is the classic variant. The main feature of the vanity mirror is the magnification and the flexible alignment of the mirror surface. Another popular mirror variant for the bathroom is the mirror cabinet, which offers plenty of storage space in addition to the mirror surface.
Each bathroom mirror is equipped with different extras that meet individual requirements and needs. While some of us usually only take a quick look in the mirror, others use the bathroom mirror extensively in their daily grooming routine. Many bathroom mirrors can be upgraded with the following extras:
- Lighting
- Shelf
- Mirror heating
- Bluetooth audio
Where do I buy my bathroom mirror?
Bathroom mirrors can be bought both in stores and online on the internet. The advantage of buying locally is that the customer can assess the size and the effect in the room much better. In addition, thanks to professional advice, every customer will find exactly the model that will satisfy them in the long term. We will be happy to support you personally in your search for a bathroom mirror in our showroom in Brilon. But you can also find the ideal mirror for your bathroom on the internet. Here, the number of suppliers and the selection is also larger. If you would like individual advice, you can contact us at any time by phone or e-mail to clarify any open questions you may have about buying a mirror.
Bathroom mirror: What size and height?
Once the customer has decided on a model, the question of size comes to the fore. Many mirror models are available in different sizes so that the model can fit ideally into one's own bathroom. There is no rule of thumb for the size of the bathroom mirror. Rather, it depends on one's own taste. However, it is generally true that large mirrors visually enlarge small bathrooms. There is also no fixed principle for the height of the mirror. It should be placed so that the person can easily see the desired section in the mirror. Since the face is usually the focus of bathroom mirrors, this in particular should be taken into account.
What extras should the bathroom mirror have?
Once the decision for a bathroom mirror has been made, the customer is usually faced with the question of which extras his mirror should have. From lighting to additional storage space: the choice is large.
Bathroom mirror lighting with LED: Which light for the bathroom?
The classic tube lighting of bathroom mirrors is gradually being replaced by LED lighting, which can usually be dimmed between warm white, neutral white and daylight white. Some mirrors now also offer backlighting that additionally sets the scene for the washbasin. Some manufacturers also offer downward-radiating washbasin lighting.
The options today are numerous, so the choice of the right light needs to be well thought out. When making a decision, it makes sense to take the conditions of the bathroom into account.
- How is the lighting in the bathroom in general?
- How strong does the light source on the bathroom mirror have to be?
- What is my goal with the mirror lighting?
Some want to use the light to brighten up the room completely. Others are looking for a way to bathe the room in a cosy atmosphere when the classic bathroom light is too bright. Others want complete illumination of the face for ideal make-up application. As different as the lighting requirements are, the choice for or against a mirror must be made with care.
Once the customer has decided on a bathroom mirror with integrated lighting, the customer is still faced with the choice of how the light is to be controlled. For example, there are classic on/off switches and dimmers in different versions. What the customer chooses here depends entirely on his or her own preferences.
Bathroom mirror without lighting
As large as the selection of different lighting options may be today, some also like to do without lighting for the bathroom mirror. The classic look and the choice of other lighting sources can thus turn the mirror into an unobtrusive eye-catcher.
Bathroom mirror with shelf
Storage space around the mirror is practical. This way, the customer has all the utensils at hand for the morning routine. No wonder, then, that mirrors or mirror cabinets with storage space are particularly popular. The shelf can be placed in different places on the mirror. Whether directly in front of the mirror, on the sides or, in the case of hinged mirror cabinets, behind the mirror surface: anyone who has once enjoyed plenty of storage space will not want to do without it again in the future.
Folding bathroom mirrors make the all-round check possible
Bathroom mirrors with folding sides are ideal when the customer wants to look at themselves not only from the front but also from the sides. Whether choosing clothes or checking the hairstyle from different angles: Bathroom mirrors with folding elements make it possible. This bathroom mirror is available as a classic mirror variant as well as a mirror cabinet, behind whose folding elements there is then additional storage space.
Bathroom mirror cabinet - hidden storage space
Behind some of the mirror surfaces, a cupboard is hidden in which important bathroom utensils can be stored. The mirror cabinet can either be built into the wall or mounted directly in front of it. If it is built into the wall, the mirror forms a straight surface with the wall. If the customer decides to install it in front of the wall, there is permanently more leeway in the selection of possible new models.
A bathroom mirror that doesn't fog up - thanks to mirror heating
Thanks to mirror heating, which is offered on some models, the mirrors no longer mist up. Everyone knows the phenomenon when a customer enters the bathroom after a hot shower, wants to take a look in the mirror - and sees nothing. Often, the hairdryer has to be used to clear up the fogged mirror. But there is an easier way. The solution is a mirror heater, i.e. a heater that is integrated into the mirror and permanently ensures a clear view of one's own reflection.
Bluetooth audio for music in the bathroom
Modern and practical are bathroom mirrors that are equipped with a Bluetooth audio system. Here, favourite music can be put on in the morning - and listened to during the daily morning routine.
Tilt mirror for accessibility
Accessibility is provided by tilting mirrors that can be easily tilted forwards, usually with the help of handles. These also offer wheelchair users a great deal of freedom when choosing a suitable mirror.
Customised bathroom mirrors
The range of manufacturers is diverse. If you still can't find the mirror you're looking for, we'll be happy to help you find an individual solution with our brand partners. Our partners bpe:Licht and burgbad are particularly strong here.
Who mounts bathroom mirrors?
While some people like to do the mirror installation themselves, others shy away from such tasks. In this case, the installation can also be carried out by a craftsman. Basically, however, many bathroom mirrors can be installed by the buyer. However, this requires some manual skill. First of all, the height and position of the mirror cabinet must be measured. Then the customer usually has to drill the fastenings for the mirror into the wall, on which the mirror is then hung. If the mirror has mirror doors, these should be unscrewed before mounting the mirror on the wall. As soon as the mirror hangs firmly and securely, it can be adjusted again.
